National Affiliate Program

One of the ways your organization can bolster the work of the Campaign for the Civic Mission of Schools and increase the national visibility of civic learning is to join the Campaign’s National Affiliate Program. This program allows organizations to formally identify themselves as having made a commitment to support the work of the Campaign for the Civic Mission of Schools in improving the civic learning policy environment for our nation’s schools and in implementing the recommendations of the Civic Mission of Schools Report.

• Connection with a national civic learning campaign promoting improved policy and expanded civic learning in our nation’s schools

• Opportunities for national recognition in Educating for Democracy, the Campaign’s quarterly newsletter, and on the Campaign for the Civic Mission of Schools’ web site

• Use of the “Educating for Democracy” logo in print & online

• Opportunities to help with the Campaign’s national policy agenda; to coordinate & collaborate with state campaign teams; to initiate topics of discussion on the Campaign’s community weblog

How to Affiliate with Campaign for the Civic Mission of Schools

To be considered for official affiliation with the Campaign for the Civic Mission of Schools, programs and organizations are requested to:

• support the goal of the Campaign to persuade public officials, educators, and civic leaders to lift up and strengthen the school’s historic mission of educating for democracy and to provide the resources so that all young Americans can have the best possible civic learning experiences.
  
• be non-partisan
  
• complete an application form

Once the application form is received & reviewed, the Campaign for the Civic Mission of Schools and the program or organization will sign a "Statement of Affiliation," which will include an agreement to:

• Recognize the common goals between the Campaign for the Civic Mission of Schools and the approved organization;

• Publicly acknowledge the affiliation, which may include website links, use of the Educating for Democracy logo on publications, and references in printed materials
