STORY -- Superintendent's Student Advisory Committee, OR

Portland is a town based on the idea that all can have an impact on the community. Students know this, and watching adults accept this social contract, they take it upon themselves to follow those adult role models. Students’ concerns are addressed seriously, and students note that respect and reflect it in their discussions with administrators, parents, staff, teachers, and other adults they encounter.

The students involved in SuperSAC regularly take on leadership roles in their colleges, military units, and communities.  They know they can make a difference—they already have in Portland.
