Quality Core Curriculum for Social Studies: Civics/Citizenship and Character Education: Ten character education standards address democracy, respect for authority, equality, rights, liberty, justice, patriotism, courage, respect for the natural environment and respect for the creator. Nineteen social studies standards address such topics as government, democratic values, federalism, pluralism, social action, domestic policy, political parties, diversity and "Judeo-Christian traditions." Standards are grade-specific through grade 8, then comprehensive for 9-12. No framework, but the department of education's Georgia Learning Connections website contains lesson plans and assessment correlations for each standard.
